KAR PHOTOGRAPHY (MARCH PHOTO MADNESS)

March was great first I would like to congratulate Norfolk State University Spartans for making it to the NCAA MARCH MADNESS, I can't wait until next season. March was a very busy month, but a great one check out some of the photos below and enjoy. KAR

1st I had to kick my blog off with beautiful McKenzie. McKenzie was a trooper bright eyed and full of energy. We started the shoot at 8pm all the way to about 9:30pm. McKenzie was full of laughs and happy to be around her mother, father, brothers, aunt & uncle. I believe her photos have received more hits on my page than any other photo posted https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3574867847974&set=a.1163750811555.2025274.1161409971&type=1&theater. Checkout McKenzie and her father photos, McKenzie could be the future Gerber Baby.

It was a great surprise 50th birthday celebration from a daughter to a mother, a lot of fun and celebrating, they even did the soul train line.  More photos to come...

Chrissi J is on her way to becoming one of the best in the field of kinky hair, dreads, or curls check out Chrissi's photos and check her out at Denny Moe's Barber Shop

The special day of great clients, the Colliers, they were classy, and in love and it showed all the through the night. Check out their photos below.

I would like to thank my photo assistant Sole for capturing this photo of me. I never get a chance to have photos taken of myself. Thank you Sole

Before the photos above were taken I had an awesome photo shoot 9am that Saturday, with my client Sally. Who celebrated her 40th birthday with a photo shoot with her friends and a 40th b-day party later on that evening. (Positive women in this photo, this is the image I would like the world to see of Black women instead of what they portray on the TV reality shows.) It was a long day but it was fun. It's never work when you love what your doing.

New life is always special and I'm very happy for my client Ericka and I wish her all the best.

Make up-artist model and more look for more photos of Latifah to come. We only shot one time last year but we will be doing a lot more shoots this year.

Next April will be even better more photos to enjoy. KAR

A REAL FAMILY "THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER"

Once month the sons, and daughter's, of the Delaney family, go over to their parents house along with their children, cousins, nieces, nephews, and new additions of the family, for prayer. All the men surrounded the women in the family to pray over them.
The Delaney family is my extended family, and I love all of them, and learned a lot from them. Hopefully we can all learn a lot from these 2 photos. God Bless the Delaney family, and your family too. KAR
In this photo Tameka is pregnant and the family extends their arm to pray over her.

PHOTOS OF THE MLK MEMORIAL in D.C. at NIGHT Pt. 1

This past weekend I had the opportunity to go to the MLK Memorial in Washington D.C.. I've seen so many shots of the monument but the ones at night time really caught my eye the most. So I knew it would be a challenge to capture the photos without the grain, because I have a Canon 30d which means I would experience a grainy photos at night because my ISO would be bumped up past 1000.

The memorial is a very peaceful place, once you enter, there are lights coming from the ground that illuminate the wall which has some of MLK's greatest quotes. For a second when I arrived, I thought the monument was tall short. Until you get closer to it, then you realize how perfect it is, and how peaceful it is. I've been to a lot of memorials and tombs, but the MLK Memorial felt like you can feel the presence of Martin Luther King. All I can say is go see it for yourself, and you will understand the feeling. Enjoy the photos -KAR

"SO WHAT U SAYIN" EPMD "HIT SQUAD" REUNION TOUR

What do you get when you mix EPMD, REDMAN, KEITH MURRAY, DAS EFX, K-Solo, with one of the best dj's ever DJ SCRATCH performing. You will get 3 hours of hip hop.

EPMD is one of my favorite all time hip hop groups. I still remember having their 1st album, and putting the needle on the record, to hear the helicopter, and then that growling baseline with the ladies voice in the background saying "IT'S MY THING". When Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith started performing it took me back to those days, of the fat rope chains and the rag crushers.

Keith Murray's an animated lyricist, that keeps your head bopping to his metaphors and use of syllables, with a great delivery. (Felt like I was a judge on the hip hop voice) His stage performance kept the crowd hype through the night. DAS EFX, who reminded us, of the days when we, I'm mean you wore Cross Colours outfits, and jumped up and down to the digitty DAS EFX style that came straight from the sewer.    K-Solo performed his classics from "YA MOMS IN MY BUSINESS" to "SPELLBOUND" and REDMAN who will always give you your money's worth, killed it. Especially when he brought out Method Man, on stage the crowd went crazy.

DJ SCRATCH and EPMD did a dedication to Jam Master Jay and Run DMC. They said if it wasn't for them they would not had been there today. I posted video of DJ SRATCH going off on the ones and two's and you know what, the video still could not give you the feeling of being there.

If this tour comes to your town spend the money and you will get 20 of the best years of hip=hop in one night... KAR APPROVED....

NATURAL MODEL (MY COUSIN ADILAH)

My cousin Adilah just came home a couple of weeks ago, from surgery, so I went by to check up on her. While I was there, I figured why not do a photo shoot with her, she agreed and with a blend of natural light and a beautiful model. We came up with these photos. ENJOY. -KAR

SOUL TRAIN FLASH MOB IN TIMES SQUARE

video
The Soooooooooooooooouul Train Line Flash Mob was only supposed to last for 20 minutes. But thanks to New York Finest they allowed the party people to dance for almost 2 hours. Every person of color went down the Soul Train Line in honor of Don Cornelius who committed suicide earlier this week.

Don has left us all with great memories of Saturday Mornings watching the Soul Train Dancers and seeing all the R&B artist perform on his show. He will be truly missed. -KAR
